About Phillips Concrete Services

Over the past few years, Phillips Concrete Services has had opportunities to work on several significant projects in and around the St. Louis area. We’ve worked on several projects surrounding the Washington University Campus Renewal efforts with BJC, as well as their East Campus Expansion. In addition, we are proud to say that we worked on the Kiener Plaza and Ball Park Village projects in downtown St. Louis, several paving renovation projects across St. Louis City and St. Louis County, as well as on the Illinois side of the metropolitan area with our work on the Merchants Bridge East Expansion in Granite City. We have worked on numerous projects with the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, in particular, the Maline Creek and Deer Creek Tunneling projects. We completed the multi-year Deer Creek Tunneling project in 2021 and were proud to be able to state that we poured over 90,000 cubic yards of concrete with not one break missing specifications.

We were highlighted in the Summer 2015 edition of TILT-UP Today magazine for our work on the Centene Service Center building in Ferguson, MO. We were awarded the 2015 Emerging Business Award by MOKAN, as well as the Chairman’s Award from the Concrete Council for our work on the St. Louis County Courts building in Clayton. In addition, we were featured on the cover of the St. Louis Business Journal in October 2017 in an article highlighting MSD’s Diversity Inclusion program.

Alfredo D. Jones is a graduate, from both Lake Land College and Richland Community College as well as studies with Lincoln University and Forest Park Community College. Alfredo D. Jones was the very first truck driver that was hired in 2014 and was a very important part of the success witnessed while developing operations. Over the last year in 2021, Al ran Phillips Concrete Services. At the beginning of December, 2021 Al took over complete control of the company by purchasing and renaming it Al’s Concrete Solutions, LLC dba Phillips Concrete Services.

Lionel Phillips, a native of St. Louis, is the founder of Phillips Concrete Services, LLC. Mr. Phillips is an experienced and proven executive, serving in corporate America, as well as the construction industry. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Mr. Phillips is a retired IBM executive and previously owned a mechanical contracting firm, an HVAC supplies company, as well as an office supplies company prior to starting PCS in June 2014. He currently serves as a consultant for the company.

Josh Jones, a St. Louis native is Operations/Project Manager for Phillips Concrete Services, and is the newest member of the Company. As Project Manager, Josh oversees the daily operations, making sure things are in working order and ready to be utilized for various projects. Josh’s enthusiastically supportive attitude and charismatic demeanor are what gives him the confidence to go the extra mile, ensuring our customers are beyond satisfied.

Georgette Allen, has over 15 years of Dispatching knowledge in the St. Louis Metropolitan area. She performs the daily order entry, route planning, and scheduling of the drivers at Phillips Concrete Services. She prides herself on being efficient and providing exceptional customer service and is the focal point of customer services usually being the first contact for the business.
